The Parts of Speech and Sentences Free Printable

This printable is designed for grades 4-9, middle school and junior high. It can also be used for high school students, or even for college! There are two sheets: one with the parts of speech, and another with the parts of a sentence. Laminate them or stick them in sheet protectors to put them in a binder.

I created it in middle school to help me memorize the different parts of speech and the different parts of a sentence. It covers:

  • Nouns
  • Verbs
  • Pronouns
  • Articles
  • Adjectives
  • Adverbs
  • Interjections
  • Conjunctions
  • Prepositions
  • Object of Prepositions
  • Direct and indirect objects
  • Infinitive phrases

Learning the parts of speech is crucial for solid grammar skills. It helps with clarity in speech and sentences. Plus, having a solid foundation in English makes learning a foreign language easier.

I choose to create a sheet with the parts of sentences to go with my diagramming cheat sheet. At first, diagramming is hard and can seem pointless. In all honestly, once you learn how to do it, you will become SO much more familiar with the English language and improve your writing skills. Knowing how to diagram can help eliminate common grammatical errors and once mastered, can take away A LOT of grammar headaches. I would HIGHLY recommend learning diagramming!

      • Hey Sheila. Click on “Only for Likers.” Click on the image that comes up next. Then Click on the top left printer image OR go to File (top left) -> Print. Thanks! 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for these printables! My daughter is in the 5th grade (homeschooled) and these will help her so much! I also noticed that others were having trouble printing. When I got to the print page and would click on the printer icon, it would send me to an empty google page. Instead, I hit the download icon. My computer asked if I wanted to open or save and I chose to open. From there I can print the page just fine. Please try that if anyone is having problems printing. =) Thank you again!
