Synonyms and Antonyms Game – Free Printable
To utilize this game, just download to your computer and print out. Make sure to print out enough worksheets (page 2) for each player to have one. Use colored paper for a more aesthetically pleasing look. After cutting out the word cards, shuffle and mix them well. Grab a writing utensil for each player, and you’re ready to go! Draw one card and set a timer for 60 seconds. On the sheet, each player will work to write 5 synonyms and 5 antonyms as quickly as they can before the time runs out!
When the 60-second round is complete, players can read aloud and count up one point for each synonym and antonym they were able to list. If you want to add an extra element of competition for older students, add in this rule: any two players with the same word written down must cross out that word and will not receive a point. At the finalization of three rounds, the game is complete. The player will the most points is the winner! 48 different word cards means you can have your students play this game again and again!
