Peppermint Bath Salts – Homemade Christmas Gift

Bath salts are easy to make – you can even get the kids involved for some extra fun! Grab your ingredients to get started.

In two small bowls, add one cup of epsom salt to each.

Stir in one teaspoon coconut oil into each bowl. Add one drop of peppermint essential oil to each bowl and stir well.
To one bowl add one drop red gel food coloring and stir until the color is well combined. Depending on the coloring, you may need to add more to make the color rich and Christmas-y!

Pour half of each jar, layering the beautiful red and white salts into the storage jar, like a candy cane. You will need to pat down each layer, so it lays nicely!

There you have it! Package it with a nice ribbon and a note for a gift, or keep it for yourself for a stay-in spa night. I sometimes use mine as a sugar scrub to help exfoliate, and smell great afterwards. You will need to mix them up before each use!

To make your own variations and smells of bath salts, switch out the peppermint essential oils for other kinds. Add some food coloring for an aesthetic appeal if you want!
