Patriotic Dessert: Red White and Blue Chocolate Bark
With Memorial Day over and the 4th of July coming up, now is a great time to get into the patriotic spirit. Plus, this red, white and blue bark can spark some conversations on why we celebrate the 4th of July and why red, white and blue are America’s colors.
This bark is super easy to make, no-bake so you don’t have to heat up your house in the humid summer days, and is great for satisfying a sweet tooth.
To get started making your chocolate bark, you just need a few ingredients.
- Parchment paper
- 6 ounces white candy melts
- 6 ounces blue candy melts
- 6 ounces red candy melts
- Decorative sprinkles
Place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet.
Melt the candy melts according to directions, either in microwave or on a stove top. (Or, use this Wilton Chocolate Melting Pot)
Pour the melted candy melts onto parchment paper. Smooth and spread it out with a knife.
Using a knife, swirl the chocolate in a pretty figure 8 pattern, swirling the red and blue chocolate into the white chocolate. There is seriously no right or wrong way to do it!
Top your swirled bark with fun red, white and blue decorative sprinkles.
Put your bark in the fridge until it hardens. (it will be around 1-2 hours)
Break your bark into pieces to serve and enjoy!
