January was a crazy epic month for me. I set records I didn’t realize were possible at this time, I got noticed by some crazy big bloggers (thanks!) And…
(Sorry for the poor photo..It was the best I could come up with and I was really tired.)
January was a crazy month with stats, and it made me realize I love blogging. There are few things better than waking up and seeing someone bought a movie I recommended. And not just friends or fellow bloggers – complete strangers – read what I have to say. And like it. And share it. It’s crazy to me.
Some say it’s not possible to make a decent income by being a blogger. Some say you can’t be successful as a minority. Some say you can’t be successful as a female in a male-dominated world. However, I don’t believe any of this nonsense. If you have a dream, and you’re willing to put the time and effort into it – go for it. Run like the wind, and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t.
To celebrate, I am giving away a copy of Think Big and Gifted Hands by Ben Carson. I tremendously enjoyed Carson’s wisdom, non-cheesy inspiration, and story, and I think you will too. Both are fantastic motivators for the young and old. For those who don’t know him, Carson, a “ghetto” kid, was raised by a single mom who had a third grade education. Through faith, hard work, determination, thinking big and dreaming out loud, Ben Carson graduated at Yale and became the first neurosurgeon to help separate conjoined twins. He is wise, humble, and has so many incredible things to offer the world.
So, without further blah-blah-blah, here’s to thinking big and reaching your goals and dreams!

Samantha, you are bold, honest, practical, and blunt. You are the individual who takes a stand, while everyone else clings tightly to their seats. Thank you for that.
Haha thank you. 🙂
I originally “found” you because of the math cheat sheet 🙂
It is great that you are “just” a teen, but you are not afraid to have thoughts and ideas, and to flesh them out for others to consider. You’re not waiting for the adults to tell you how or what to think.
I am new to your blog! My biggest dream is for my children to be successful and happy in life!
I have been following you for over a year now. I love how young you are and yet you are willing to think for yourself and discuss topics that most your age wouldn’t know anything about. I also like that you are homeschooled as I am just starting this journey with my boys and hope when they are in their teens they too can think for themselves.
Hi Samantha!
I love that you are self-motivated and have many goals that you are achieving with much success! You are so young, but you teach us “old” folks a thing or two with you being so
tech-savvy. 😉 (I don’t think I’m that old, but to you I might be. LOL!) As a homeschool mom, I love that you are homeschooled too and showing the world that homeschool students have so much to offer for their community, society and the blogosphere! It’s been a pleasure collaborating with you on the history resource posts and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of your blogging journey! God bless you!
You speak your mind…and great pictures for pinterest. 🙂
Haha thanks! 🙂
My biggest dream is that my husband and I can raise our four children to be faith-filled, respectful, motivated and happy people. We pray that they have courage to speak and stand for what they believe in. We pray that they dream big and work to live their dreams!
Thank you for being an example of those things in our crazy world.
Your blog is great. You are very clear thinking and have good insights. Keep up the great work!
I’ve found so many helpful recommendations on your blog for my homeschoolers. Thank you! I’ve had Ben Carsons book sitting in my Amazon cart for over a month now.
Maybe I can win it instead! I want my kids to read it!
New here. One of my dreams is to start my own business helping people.
My dream is to find a cure for my depression. Reading helps take my mind off things!
I enjoy your blog because it not cluttered with a bunch of junk, i can easily read what I want to read!
Samantha I’ve been following you on Pinterest for awhile and you know I love your courage to write about what you love, that you are so genuine and a great role model for my girls. You remind me of myself at your age, if I’d had the courage and means to do what you do. Happy to see you succeeding!
I think that my favorite thing is that you respond to your readers. I feel like you and I could just hang out. You’re like a great friend and I’ve never even met you!
Aww thanks! 🙂 And same! I try to communicate with my readers..I know many bloggers who don’t and it bugs me lol
I love that you are a teen who was homeschooled herself. Using Sonlight, no less! It really is incredible how much you’ve accomplished. Love it!
Thanks for all of your hard work! I always enjoy reading your posts.
Many Thanks for all of your wisdom! I love reading your ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and posts! I hope my kids flourish in their home education as much as you have! God bless!
I love that you are young and have convictions. I pray for more people like you!
Since I’m a relatively new reader, I’ll answer both of your prompts. First, what really excited me when I discovered your blog a few short months ago was the kindred spirit I found in you. As a senior in high school, I attend public school now, but I was homeschooled throughout the entirety of my elementary career. My independent education afforded me an autodidactic nature (and penchant for procrastination xD) similar to your own.
My ultimate goal in life is to become a foreign language teacher. I want to inspire within my students a voracious passion for knowledge that shall profit them their entire lives long. Or, you know, whatever else God might lead me to do as I strive to follow His will in everything, with everything, always. My short term goal is to win this set of books for both my own edification and that of a friend whose absolute hero is Ben Carson and who, as a recent convert to atheism, may profit from knowing his whole story. God bless you always!!
*short-term
Hi! That’s awesome! It’s always nice to find teen bloggers! 🙂
And yes, I think you and your friend would really enjoy both of Carson’s books. I can’t speak highly enough of Carson (and his very Conservative National Prayer breakfast speech in front of the Obama’s) If you don’t win, I’d definitely recommend renting both at your local library, or buying off Amazon. (affiliate link) Gifted Hands is only $3 on Amazon. 🙂
And, good luck with your goal in life! I had definitely considered being a foreign language teacher for quite some time..
Thanks for the link! I’ll have to ransack my local library for it sometime. There’s just something unprecedentedly, deliciously nostalgic about a holding a paper book in your hands. And thanks! Good luck to you in your future endeavors as well! You’re in my prayers; I humbly ask that you keep me in yours as well 🙂 God bless, again!
